U.S. Chamber, Greater Topeka Chamber Host U.S. Representative Derek Schmidt for Roundtable on Tax Reform

TOPEKA, KS - The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce recently hosted U.S. Representative Derek Schmidt (R-KS-02) for a roundtable discussion with local business leaders on the pro-growth business tax provisions in President Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act. This forward-looking, pro-growth policy is vital to maintaining America's prosperity and competitive edge and will create new opportunities for American workers and businesses to thrive.

We applaud Congressman Schmidt for working to ensure that the constituents of the 2nd District of Kansas continue to benefit from long-term tax relief, fostering growth for workers and businesses across his district and beyond.

"The U.S. Chamber thanks Congressman Schmidt for his leadership on pro-growth policies and for joining us in Topeka to hear from Kansans on how the Working Families Tax Cuts has positively impacted them," said John Gonzales, Executive Director of Government Affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. "It was a valuable time to hear directly from small business leaders about how these policies-like expanded expensing, tax relief, and workforce supports-are helping them grow and compete."

"I appreciate the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce for hosting today's small business roundtable and for bringing together local leaders to share their insights. These discussions are essential as we work to advance policies that support small businesses, strengthen our economy, and create opportunities for continued growth," said Rep. Derek Schmidt.

"We are proud to partner with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to bring this important conversation to Topeka," said Bob Ross, President of the Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce. "These provisions represent real, tangible opportunities for our small businesses-from reinvesting in equipment and innovation to supporting working families. This roundtable allows us to highlight that impact locally and recognize the leadership of Congressman Schmidt in advancing policies that support growth and opportunity."

The U.S. Chamber's tax roundtables are a part of its Growing America's Future campaign, an education and advocacy blitz in support of maintaining a pro-growth tax code to foster a robust U.S. economy that benefits all Americans. To date, the Chamber has hosted over 90 tax roundtables, and these events will continue over the coming months in communities across the country.
