REGISTRATION OPEN FOR 16th ANNUAL CHARLESTON WINTER SERIES

(Charleston, W. Va.) - The City of Charleston Parks and Recreation Department today announced registration is open for the 16^th Annual Charleston Winter Series. The race series includes a 5k run/3k walk on December 15, 2024, an 8k run/4k walk on January 12, 2025, and ends with a 10k run/5k walk on February 16, 2025.

REGISTRATION

Registration can be completed at charlestonwinterseries.com. Registration fees are $40 for a single race and $90 for the full series. The student rate is $30 for the series.

• Registration for the December 15 race closes on December 14, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.

• Registration for the January 12 race closes January 10, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.

• Registration for the February 16 race closes February 16, 2025 at 1:59 p.m.

• Participants may also register in person on the day of any race from 1 p.m. - 1:59 p.m.

• Participants must register for the series prior to the December 15 race to receive a hoodie.

RACE DAY

1 p.m. | packet pickup

2 p.m. | race begins at the University of Charleston Pharmacy School parking lot

5k run/3k walk: UC > Kanawha Ave SE > 27^th St SE > Frontage Rd > 29^th St SE > Kanawha Ave SE > 33^rd St SE > Virginia Ave > turn around at 38^th St SE and return via same route

8k run /4k walk: UC > Kanawha Ave SE > 27th St SE > Frontage Rd > 29th St SE > Kanawha Ave SE > 33rd St SE > Virginia Ave > 38^th St SE > Kanawha Ave SE > turn around at 47^th St SE and return via same route

10k run /5k walk: UC > Kanawha Ave SE > 27th St SE > Frontage Rd > 29th St SE > Kanawha Ave SE > 33rd St SE > Virginia Ave > 38th St SE > Kanawha Ave SE > turn around at 54^th St SE and return to UC via same route

AWARDS

Awards will be presented for each age group: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+.
