Volusia County residents impacted by Hurricane Milton can receive on-site assistance applying for Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP) benefits from the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF). On-site support will be available from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, through Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the Ocean Center, 101 N. Atlantic Ave., Daytona Beach.
This on-site assistance is designed for residents who preregistered online but were unable to complete their phone interviews. Residents who preregister online at www.myflfamilies.com/dsnapby Friday, Nov. 15, and complete their telephone interview after preregistration do not need to attend the on-site event. Additionally, residents who have been informed by a DCF representative that they were approved for D-SNAP do not need to attend. Approved applicants will receive their EBT cards by mail at the address provided on their application.
For those who do not preregister before the Nov. 15 deadline, DCF will reopen the online preregistration portal during the on-site assistance dates. Residents are strongly encouraged to preregister online before attending the event to streamline the process. Current SNAP recipients are not eligible for D-SNAP and should not visit the on-site location.
