AIA to Congress: Reopen America for Business—Pass a CR Now

Arlington, Va. - As the government shutdown enters its second week, Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning is calling on the U.S. Congress to pass a continuing resolution and reopen federal government.

"AIA urges Congress to pass a clean continuing resolution that will reopen the government, ensuring the continuity of critical functions that protect national security, prevent air travel delays, and sustain innovation," Fanning said. "While we understand that Congress needs more time to finalize fiscal year 2026 appropriations, a prolonged shutdown has serious implications that will reverberate throughout the aerospace and defense supply chain. A continuing resolution is essential to prevent significant disruptions to government services that underpin our economy, national security, and workforce."
