City of Evansville to Host “Doing Business with the City” Event for Local Businesses

Evansville, Ind. - June 2, 2026 - The City of Evansville, in partnership with the Southwest Indiana Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the Evansville Regional Economic Partnership (E-REP), will host the "Doing Business with the City of Evansville" event to provide local businesses with insight into city contracting processes and opportunities.

The event will take place on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the EWSU Sunrise Pump Station, located at 1200 Waterworks Road.

During the event, small-to-medium-sized businesses will hear from city leaders, department representatives, and community partners through presentations focused on the city's purchasing and procurement processes, supplier readiness, available resources, and opportunities for businesses interested in providing goods or services to the city.

"This event is about creating stronger connections between local businesses and city government while helping break down barriers that can make the procurement process feel difficult to navigate," said Mayor Stephanie Terry. "We want local businesses to understand the opportunities available, build relationships with city departments, and feel empowered to pursue work that helps move our community forward."

Following the program, attendees will have the opportunity to network directly with buyers from several city departments as well as prime contractors and community resource partners.

"Small businesses are a critical part of Evansville's economic growth and long-term vitality. Events like 'Doing Business with the City' help make government processes more accessible while connecting entrepreneurs with the resources and relationships they need to succeed," said Dominic Poggi, Regional Director, Southwest Indiana SBDC. "The Southwest Indiana SBDC is proud to support efforts that make it easier for businesses to start, grow, and thrive in our region."

The event is free to attend, but registration is encouraged. Businesses are asked to limit attendance to two representatives per company.
