ISU Planetarium presents “Messengers of Time and Space”

The Illinois State University Planetarium is pleased to offer Messengers of Time and Space, running weekends from January 23 through February 28. Show times are Fridays at 7:30 p.m., and Saturdays at 2 p.m., and 7:30 p.m.

Gazing upward with our unaided eyes, the night sky appears as it did to our ancestors, a Universe seemingly calm and tranquil. Yet today we know that space is dynamic - a place full of constantly unfolding, incredible events that happen even on human timescales. These include the discovery of bizarre asteroids, violently exploding stars, and colliding black holes.

New technologies are revealing these fascinating "time-domain events" in unprecedented ways. Messengers of Time and Space goes in search of the telescopes and specialized instruments exploring our violent Universe as never before.

Tickets may be purchased next to the Planetarium beginning 20 minutes before each show. Cash or check only. Seating is limited.

Regular admission is:

  • $7 for adults;
  • $6 for children ages 5-12, seniors, and Illinois State ID holders;
  • and $5 for children ages 3-4.

The ISU Planetarium is located in the Felmley Hall of Science Annex, at the intersection of College Avenue and School Street, in Normal. Free parking is available a short distance from the ISU Planetarium in University parking lot F-67, on the east side of School Street.
