Public Notice:2026 Solid Waste Training Series The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Solid Waste Permitting and Corrective Action Program is pleased to announce the schedule for the first half of the 2026 Solid Waste Training Series. State Guaranteed Trust Account February 18, 2026 · Casper DEQ Office With 2026 marking a recalculation year for facilities participating in the State Guaranteed Trust Account (SGTA), we are providing an updated and detailed look at the forthcoming SGTA recalculation sheet process for financial assurance payments. During this training, DEQ Staff will present a detailed look at the recalculation sheet, required information, and the review and invoice process. Municipal Solid Waste Landfill Operator and Manager Workbook and Exams March 11, 2026 · Cheyenne DEQ Office SWP&CA Staff will present the annual spring review of the fundamentals of the Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) Landfill Operator and Manager workbook. At the end of the webinar, participants will have the opportunity to register for the Department's MSW Landfill Operator and Manager Exams. Transfer Station Operation and Management Apri1 1, 2026 · Casper DEQ Office This webinar will review the applicable rules and the fundamentals for safe and compliant operation and management of a transfer station. Attendees will have the option of registering for the Department's Transfer Station Operation and Management Exam at the end of the webinar. Animal Mortality Composting June 10, 2026 · Thermopolis - TBD An introduction to the basics of animal mortality composting discussing biology, design, and operation. For in-person attendees there will be a hands-on field demonstration. More information on the schedule and content of this training will be available soon. These trainings are not required by the Solid Waste Rules, but are intended to help solid waste facility operators, managers, and consultants gain a better understanding of the rules and topics of interest for solid waste management. All sessions are FREE and open to solid waste professionals, consultants, and the public.
