DALLAS - Just in time for Earth Day, the youngest students at Gilbert Cuellar Sr. Elementary School are exploring sustainability through hands-on science. Pre-K students are using aeroponic towers to grow plants and observe the full lifecycle from seed to harvest. The innovative approach is helping students build early STEM skills while learning about environmental responsibility and the future of sustainable food production.

Champions parade celebrates Dallas ISD's historic wins
Dallas ISD will celebrate its four state basketball champions-Lincoln High School and Humanities/Communications Magnet, David W. Carter, Justin F. Kimball, and James Madison high schools-with a community parade kicking off at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 25. The parade will begin at the American Airlines Center Orange Lot and loop around the arena, followed by a ceremony at 11 a.m., honoring the teams' historic achievements. The event brings the community together to recognize the hard work, dedication, and success of these student-athletes on the state's biggest stage.
Dallas ISD celebrates academic excellence across the district
The Advanced Academic Services Scholars Recognition Ceremony will take place at 7 p.m., tonight, at Ellis Davis Field House. The event honors outstanding students in eighth through 12th grades across several categories including Dallas ISD Scholars, AP Scholars, National Program Recognition Scholars, and AVID Senior Scholars. It celebrates academic excellence and college readiness among some of the district's highest-achieving students.
