HARRISBURG - The Bradford County Historical Society is set to receive a $9,000 grant through the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC), according to Reps. Tina Pickett (R-Bradford/Wyoming) and Clint Owlett (R-Tioga/Bradford).
The funding will help offset essential operating expenses related to the cost of insurance, gas and electricity for the facility. This will enable them to remain open and make the facility available for educational museum tours, historical programming and research.
"By preserving our shared history, our historical societies help inform the public and deepen our community connections," said Pickett. "This investment will help the Bradford County Historical Society in continuing to celebrate our county's rich history."
"The Bradford County Historical Society offers a treasure trove of historical documents and artifacts that demonstrate the rich history of the county," Owlett said. "I'm pleased to see them receive this grant so they can continue their mission of both preservation and education."
The grant funding comes from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission through the Cultural and Historical Support Grant Program, which provides general operating support to museums and official county historical societies.
