LEWIN BRZESKI, Poland, Sept. 25, 2025 - PPG (NYSE: PPG) today announced the completion of a COLORFUL COMMUNITIES® project at the Publiczne Przedszkole nr 1 preschool in Lewin Brzeski, Poland. The school, which has around 120 children and staff, was severely damaged during flooding in 2024. It is one of 10 global flagship projects in 2025 celebrating the 10-year anniversary of PPG's Colorful Communities program.
PPG and community volunteers carried out a COLORFUL COMMUNITIES® project at a flood-damaged preschool in Poland, one of 10 flagship projects in 2025 celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the program.
PPG's Global Business Services team in Wroclaw led the initiative, which brought together more than 100 employee and community volunteers over six days in August, working alongside local partners and a professional painter to restore the interior and exterior of the school. The project was supported by a grant of 250,000 Polish zloty ($68,000) including more than 170 liters of paints including the BECKERS™, SIGMA COATINGS® and DEKORAL™ brands by PPG.
"On behalf of the town of Lewin Brzeski, I would like to thank PPG for its partnership in our community, as well as the volunteers for their contribution and for sharing what is most precious - their hearts," said Artur Kotara, Mayor of Lewin Brzeski. "This initiative marked the culmination of renovation work at the facility after the flood, truly the 'icing on the cake.' Thanks to this effort, children can now return to learning activities in spaces that are not only renovated, but also colorful, creative and welcoming."
The work included the renovation of the basement and rebuilding of the outdoor area that is central to the school's community events. Street artist Rafał Kłosiński together with volunteers created a mural along the fence, depicting lower sections of trees that seamlessly align with the trunks and foliage behind the fence to form the illusion of a complete forest. Volunteers also revitalized the sensory path, restored and replanted the gardens, repainted indoor and outdoor furniture and fences, and renovated a pergola to provide shade for outdoor activities.
"This project is a meaningful response to an urgent need in our community," said Marcin Dębowski, PPG site lead, Global Business Services. "By combining PPG's resources, our employees' volunteer spirit and the creativity of local partners, we not only repaired flood damage but created a more inspiring environment where children can grow, learn and thrive."
The project featured Beckers Designer Colour coating a waterborne, stain-resistant wall and ceiling matt paint known for its scrub resistance, excellent coverage and lasting color durability. Endorsed by the Polish Society of Allergology (PTA), it is a trusted choice for schools, homes, healthcare facilities and children's rooms. It also used Beckers Designer Universal paint, a waterborne enamel for wood, wood-based and primed metal surfaces, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. With fast drying, a durable semi-matt finish, low VOC content and PTA recommendation, it is also well-suited for allergy-sensitive environments.
PPG has expanded the Colorful Communities program for an additional 10 years and will commit a further $10 million to the program, taking its total investment to $25 million through 2035. To build on the positive impacts of the program, PPG and the PPG Foundation will also distribute a total of $1 million in celebration grants to 100 previous and current Colorful Communities partners globally this year.
