BUIES CREEK - Campbell University will host Campbell Giving Day on Wednesday, Nov. 12, as alumni, faculty, staff and friends unite to make a difference in the lives of current and future students.
This year's Campbell Giving Day goal is 2,000 donors, emphasizing that every gift, no matter the size, makes an impact on the Campbell community. Participants are encouraged to give to the area of campus that means the most to them, from schools to athletic teams to student organizations.
"I'm excited to be part of my first Giving Day at Campbell University," shared new President Dr. William M. Downs. "After just four months on campus, I have already learned much about the intense passion and loyalty people feel for this special place. That's why I'm confident our alumni, friends, community partners and so many others will invest in Campbell's future during the upcoming twenty-four hours of fundraising. It should be a really big day for Camel Nation!"
To inspire participation, Dr. Downs has announced three Presidential Challenges for the day:
In addition, lifetime trustees Bob and Barbara Whiteman have established the "Double Your Impact" challenge and will match every gift to the Fund for Campbell, dollar for dollar, up to $50,000. Donations up to $2,500, per donor, will be matched 1:1.
Additional challenges from longtime donors, alumni and campus groups have also been established to encourage participation across campus and beyond.
Supporters can make their gift online at give.campbell.edu/givingdayand follow along throughout the day on social media by following @campbelledu and @campbell_alumni or by using the hashtag #CampbellGivingDay.
