Minister Konaković Meets High Officials at the Munich Security Conference

On February 13, 2026, Elmedin Konaković, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, participated in the Munich Security Conference (MSC) 2026, where he held several bilateral meetings with high-ranking officials.

Minister Konaković met with notable figures including His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Tanja Fajon, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia; Beate Meinl-Reisinger, the Minister for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria; Benjamin Haddad, the Minister Delegate for European Affairs of the Republic of France; and Antonio Tajani, the Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Italy.

Minister Konaković provided a detailed overview of the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasizing that the country is facing renewed assaults on its constitutional order by SNSD and Milorad Dodik. He stressed that these actions constitute a direct threat to the foundations of statehood and to the stability and European future of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He particularly highlighted the importance of a lobbying contract, sharing information on the mechanisms and activities aimed at undermining the state's territorial integrity and sovereignty. In this context, he presented the interlocutors with a document detailing all planned activities and their objectives, which he described as an organized political action aimed at secession, destabilizing the region, and blocking Bosnia and Herzegovina's path toward European integration.

Later that day, Minister Konaković had a telephone conversation with His Excellency H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates. During this call, he pointed out specific parts of the lobbying contract, particularly those related to organizing meetings with high officials. He had previously discussed this matter and issued warnings to Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on the sidelines of the Munich Conference.

Additionally, Minister Konaković met on the sidelines of the conference with Kaja Kallas, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission, and Johanna Wadephul, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The officials he spoke with reaffirmed their support and commitment to preserving the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Minister Konaković emphasized the key need for international partners to recognize destructive practices that threaten Bosnia and Herzegovina's constitutional order to prevent further destabilization. He called for joint efforts to maintain peace, stability, and the country's European future.
