May 15, 5 p.m. - The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is monitoring and responding to the ongoing fire situation in the Texas Panhandle.

Palo Duro Canyon State Park has evacuated due to threat of wildfires coming from the west, including the Hunggate Fire and the Chocolate Chip Fire. The park is closed for entry, and all trails are closed. Visitors with reservations for today and tomorrow are being contacted.

Texas Game Wardens and Texas State Park Police are assisting local law enforcement with the situation.
