ABFA STATEMENT ON EPA’S PROPOSED BIOFUELS REALLOCATION RULE

WASHINGTON, DC - Michael McAdams, President of the Advanced Biofuels Association (ABFA), issued the following statement in response to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) proposed rule on reallocating RFS obligations that certain small refiners have been exempted from to large refiners at 50% or 100% reallocation rates.

"We appreciate the EPA's swift work in proposing a rule to address lingering questions around how RFS obligations will be reallocated amidst small refinery exemptions (SREs). The SREs have been a source of continued market uncertainty in the advanced biofuels industry, and this proposal is the first step to providing farmers and producers what they need to plan their future operations.

"ABFA looks forward to working with EPA to create a rule that ultimately uplifts the advanced biofuels industry and by extension America's energy dominance."
