Exciting New Grant Program to Support Montgomery’s Small Businesses

Montgomery, AL - Exciting opportunities are on the horizon for small businesses across the City of Montgomery and Montgomery County. The Montgomery Thriving Small Business Grant Program - funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) - will soon launch, offering critical support to the entrepreneurs and business owners who strengthen neighborhoods and drive economic growth throughout the region.

This new grant program is designed to help small local businesses expand, stabilize, and elevate their operations. Funding will be available to support growth, enhance day-to-day functions, and open new pathways to long-term success.

All session locations will be announced. Virtual sessions will also include an optional in-person viewing site for those who prefer to attend together.

Information sessions and support resources will help applicants navigate the process, including opportunities to work one-on-one with grant specialists.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify, businesses must:

• Have 1-50 employees
• Generate less than $5 million in annual revenue
• Operate as a for-profit business in good standing
• Currently operate within the City of Montgomery or Montgomery County
• Demonstrate economic hardship or business need
• Be current on all taxes or have an approved payment plan
• Commit to remaining in the City of Montgomery or Montgomery County for at least one year after receiving funding
