Marquette Law Students volunteer with U.S. Speed Skating

Marquette Law School has long had a relationship with the Pettit Center through Paul Anderson, director of the Sports Law Program. This relationship allows students in the Sports Law Program to volunteer for the event in a number of capacities, including tickets, merchandise, press and VIP access, and duties on the ice.

This year, five students were on hand to help, including third-year law student Lizzie Palumbo, the Sports Law Program's legal intern for U.S. Speed Skating. This internship works directly with the U.S. Speed Skating's executive director and extends beyond the Olympic Trial event. Anderson created the internship with U.S. Speedskating with the assistance of two-time Olympic Speed Skater Dave Tamburrino, an alumnus of the sports law program at Marquette Law School.

Palumbo talked with TMJ4 in Milwaukee about the experience for her and her classmates at the event.
