The third Defense Trade Strategic Dialogue (DTSG) between the United States and France was held on December 17 in Paris.
This dialogue, co-chaired by high-level representatives of the Department of State and the Department of Defense for the United States and the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of the Armed Forces for France, aims to promote defense market access and to identify measures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of export controls.
The DTSG relies on working groups to discuss a wide range of issues, including export regulations and international export control regimes. The December 17 DTSG included updates from these working groups, and discussion on issues related to security of supply, export regulations, and international export regimes.
The international context and the new strategic challenges facing our countries require close coordination on international armaments issues, open dialogue to ensure efficient defense trade between our nations and the implementation of effective export controls by both countries.
