Foster Statement on Israel-Hamas Ceasefire Agreement

Washington, DC - Today, Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL) issued the following statement:

"I'm relieved to hear that Israel and Hamas have reached a ceasefire deal to bring the hostages home and end the violence that has taken far too many innocent lives. I commend the Biden Administration for their diplomacy throughout the course of this war and their commitment to securing this historic deal.

"Now, it's imperative that Hamas and Israel adhere to this agreement in good faith until every phase is implemented. This is an important step forward in the effort to achieve a lasting peace based on a durable two-state solution that protects Israel's security as well as the freedom and self-determination of the Palestinian people."
