(Newark, NJ - March 16, 2026) - PSE&G is prepared for rain, thunderstorms and severe winds - including gusts up to 50 miles per hour - expected to affect our service area this afternoon and evening. These conditions may cause tree limbs to break and pull down wires, causing outages.
"We're closely monitoring the weather forecast and are prepared for the potential impacts," said John Latka, senior vice president, electric transmission & distribution. "Along with our thorough storm readiness procedures, including having crews ready to respond 24/7, we've made infrastructure investments to make our grid reliable and resilient. If any outages should occur, our employees will be working as safely and quickly as possible to restore power."
We encourage customers to take the time now to prepare (pseg.com/StormSafety) ahead of a weather event, including knowing how to report an outage before it happens and how to stay safe and connected to PSE&G during winter weather.
As always, we encourage our customers to stay informed by following PSE&G on social media (@PSEG on Facebook and Instagram, and @PSEGdelivers on X) and checking our outage map at pseg.com/outagemap.
