GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. The Martial Arts and Fitness Center of
Excellence (MAFCE) will offer Resident and Mobile Training Team
(MTT) opportunities to certify and/or recertify Marines in the
Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP) and the Force Fitness
Program (FFP). The MAFCE Marine Corps Water Survival Training
Program (MCWSTP) will also provide resident Water Survival Advanced
(WSA) courses open to the National Capital Region.
2. For the MCMAP, MAFCE will offer only two resident Martial Arts
Instructor Trainer Courses (MAITC) and execute one resident Martial
Arts Instructor Course (MAIC) at Raider Hall. The MCMAP roadshows
and Technique Symposium will offer beneficial continuing education
opportunities for MAIS and MAITS by communicating developments in
the program; providing updated instructor coaching strategies;
refreshing individuals on respective orders, policies, and
procedures; and recertifying each instructor in the program if they
attend the training in its entirety. Expired MAIS and MAITS will be
provided an opportunity to recertify on a case-by-case basis.
2.a. The following are the courses and recertification
opportunities offered for the MCMAP:

2.b. For registration, all individuals who desire to participate
in the standard resident MAITC must register through MCTIMS. For
the resident MAIC, roadshows, and Technique Symposium, nominations
must be submitted to the MCMAP Chief by email at [email protected]
no later than 14 days prior to the respective event; the total
allocated seats is 55 students per course. Submit nominations to
the MCMAP Chief by email with the following information: name,
rank, EDIPI, unit, contact information, instructor certification
status, command endorsement, and unit funding status.
2.c. Participants of each respective roadshow or Technique
Symposium must have all instructor credentials verified by
their parent command and reflected in their electronic training
jacket. A command endorsement from the first commander in the
applicant's chain of command must be included in the nomination.
If expired MAIS/MAITS wish to attend, they can submit for
registration and may be allowed to recertify on a case-by-case
basis. All nominations must be submitted to the MAFCE no later than
14 days prior to the respective event.
2.d. Marines will be TAD to the designated location for the dates
listed. Each Marine participating is responsible for coordinating
their own DTS/travel arrangements, if applicable. All costs are
unit funded.
3. MAFCE will offer two resident Force Fitness Instructor Courses
(FFIC) in Quantico and execute one MTT at Camp Lejeune. The FFIC
is a positive, holistic, and progressive course, utilizing
structured functional exercise science to optimize mental and
physical performance, reduce injuries, and maximize unit physical
readiness. The course provides Marines an opportunity to gain an
additional MOS of 0919 and serve as a unit's Subject Matter Expert
(SME) on physical fitness and injury prevention, and to guide a unit
in developing unit resiliency in accordance with Marine Corps
Total Fitness.
3.a. The following are the courses offered for the FFP:

3.b. For registration, all individuals who desire to participate
in the standard resident FFIC must register through MCTIMS. To
register for the FFIC MTT 2-26 located at the School of Infantry -
East aboard Camp Geiger, all nominations must be submitted to the
FFI Chief, GySgt Ludwig, by email at [email protected] no
later than 21 days prior; the total allocated seats is 55 students.
Submit nominations to the FFI Chief by email with the following
information: name, rank, EDIPI, unit, contact information, and unit
funding status.
4. MCWSTP will run six WSA courses open to the National Capital
Region. The WSA qualification certifies individuals as advanced
swimmers, capable of rescuing swimmers in an aquatic environment
and able to serve as a safety swimmer capable of mitigating risk
for a unit commander when executing aquatic training not
directly linked to MCWSTP.

4.b. To register for a WSA course, all nominations must be
submitted to the MCIWS Chief, Sgt Maranzano, by email at
[email protected] no later than five days prior to the
respective course; the total allocated seats per course is 30
students. Each nomination to the MCIWS Chief will include the
following information: name, rank, unit, contact information,
and current water survival qualification.
