How? Through the Trees for Residential Streets planting program. Thanks to the Portland Clean Energy Community Benefits Fund (PCEF), Urban Forestry contracted with17 local tree care companies of all sizes to plant and care for new trees all over Portland. This funding helps to plant trees where they are needed most through community investment in a climate resilient future.

Why? Every Portlander should have access to safe, healthy, leafy neighborhoods and the vital public health services trees provide.

Through tree planting contracts with small, local businesses, PCEF funding supports greater economic opportunities for people in the very communities where tree planting occurs. Multnomah Landscape is one such small business, bringing a heart of social justice to tree planting in priority service neighborhoods.

Says owner Martin Eizik: "For us, this work is about giving back to communities the city hasn't historically invested in. Planting and caring for these trees feels meaningful. We're helping build green infrastructure that captures CO2, provides shade, supports habitat, and strengthens neighborhoods. As a small business, we're proud to move away from extractive landscape practices and toward work that's regenerative for both the environment and community. It's been a great experience partnering with Urban Forestry."

Eligible homeowners who sign up will see landscape contractors, like Multnomah Landscape, arrive to plant their trees this fall and winter. We celebrate these partnerships, and our communities, tree by (free) tree.
