Advance Realty Investors' investment in the future of real estate extends beyond the projects it develops, owns and manages. Through its support of the Cocoziello Institute of Real Estate Innovation at Penn State, Advance is helping create opportunities for students to engage directly with the ideas, technologies and industry leaders shaping the built environment.
That commitment was recently reflected in the Institute's "Constructing Tomorrow: Penn State Student Summit," an immersive student experience in Pittsburgh focused on the future of construction, real estate innovation and workforce development.
The summit brought together Penn State students from multiple disciplines to explore how new technologies, workforce needs, regulatory considerations and changing market demands are influencing the construction industry. Through site visits, industry discussions and professional networking, students gained a practical look at how innovation moves from concept to real-world application.
The program included a visit to Advanced Construction Robotics, where students saw how robotics are being used on active construction sites, followed by a panel discussion with leaders representing construction, development and technology. The experience gave students a broader understanding of the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of the built environment, while also creating direct connections to potential career and internship pathways.
For Advance, initiatives like this reflect a larger belief: the future of real estate depends on collaboration across disciplines. The challenges facing the industry, from infrastructure and sustainability to labor, technology and capital markets that require students, researchers and industry leaders to work together in new ways. The trip was made possible through a recently established endowment from the Master Builders' Association (MBA) of Western Pennsylvania, further reinforcing the shared importance of workforce development across real estate and construction.
The Cocoziello Institute was created to support that kind of collaboration. By bringing together Penn State faculty, students and private-sector partners, the Institute helps identify and develop practical solutions to the challenges shaping real estate, construction and the built environment.
As Advance continues to invest in transformative projects, adaptive redevelopment and long-term community value, its support of educational initiatives like the Cocoziello Institute reinforces a clear priority: building the future of real estate starts with investing in the people who will lead it.
