Governor Lombardo Highlights Attainable Housing Legislation at Paradise Trails Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

Las Vegas, NV March 25, 2026

Today, Governor Joe Lombardo touted his attainable housing legislation at a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Paradise Trails - the first community to receive funding for down payment assistance through the newly-enacted law.

"We knew Nevada needed bold, practical solutions to make housing more attainable for working families," said Governor Lombardo. "That's why I was proud to champion AB 540 to create new tools to expand attainable housing opportunities for low and middle income households across our state."

The Nevada Housing Access and Attainability Act (AB 540) provided $133 million in funding to spur the development of attainable housing and create more pathways to homeownership in Nevada. Through funding from AB 540, Signature Homes can offer down-payment assistance, interest rate buy-downs, and closing cost assistance for the 29 new single family homes in its Paradise Trails community in Las Vegas.

"It's special to be here today and witness the results of our legislation - to see the houses being built that real families can actually buy and delivering real opportunity for Nevada families," continued Governor Lombardo. "Paradise Trails is receiving more than $800,000 through the Nevada Attainable Housing Account - combining state-supported down payment assistance with builder-sponsored interest rate buy-downs and closing cost assistance."

Joining Governor Lombardo at the ribbon-cutting ceremony was Richard Plaster, founder and CEO of Signature Homes; Rick Barron, President of Signature Homes; Tick Segerblom, Clark County Commissioner; and Tina Frias, CEO of Southern Nevada Home Builders Association.
