Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey created a broadcast quality videoincluding drone footageafter visiting Buxton in the Outer Banks to bring greater awareness to the growing crisis of coastal erosion and home loss along the shoreline.<_o3a_p>

In the past five years, 22 oceanfront homes have fallen into the Atlantic Ocean - 12 in just the last month.<_o3a_p>

Commissioner Causey toured the area with members of the Buxton Civic Association, met with affected homeowners, and held a press conference calling for urgent action and long-term solutions to protect coastal communities from further devastation.<_o3a_p>

"The Outer Banks and its visitors bring billions of dollars to our state's economy. When our coast suffers, North Carolina suffers," Commissioner Causey said. "I look forward to continuing to work alongside Buxton and Dare County officials as well as the Buxton Civic Association and state legislators to find long-term solutions to protect the communities of the Outer Banks."<_o3a_p>
