Prime Minister reaffirms Portugal’s support for Ukraine on the 35th anniversary of its independence

Prime Minister Luís Montenegro paid tribute to the courage of the Ukrainian people as Ukraine marked the 35th anniversary of its independence, highlighting the country's determination to defend its sovereignty, territorial integrity and security.

In a message posted on the social media platform X, the Prime Minister recalled the commitment he personally conveyed to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that Portugal "stands and will continue to stand with Ukraine".

"Ukraine continues to fight courageously for its sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for its security and ours," said Luís Montenegro, who also highlighted the "deep human ties" between the two countries.
