Early Scheduling Recommended for 2027 NMMA Certification Inspections

As the 2027 model year gets underway, NMMA is encouraging participating manufacturers to schedule their annual NMMA Certification inspections as early as possible to help support an efficient certification process and maintain the program's rigorous standards.

Manufacturers are encouraged to schedule their annual inspection within 30 days of signing their NMMA Certification Agreement.

Completing inspections early in the model year can help identify any variations from certification requirements before a significant number of boats are produced. Addressing potential issues early allows manufacturers to implement corrective action sooner, reducing operational impacts while helping ensure NMMA Certified boats continue to meet recognized industry standards.

Advance scheduling also helps NMMA coordinate inspections more efficiently. By grouping inspections geographically and planning travel in advance, the certification team can reduce travel costs, provide greater scheduling flexibility and better accommodate manufacturers' production schedules. These efficiencies help participating manufacturers manage inspection costs while maintaining a high level of service.

Manufacturers with questions about scheduling their 2027 model year inspection should contact Lucyna Koscielniak at [email protected] or Chad Keskitalo at [email protected].
