The University Professional and Continuing Education Association (UPCEA) recognized Boise State University's Registered Respiratory Therapist to Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care (RRT-to-BSRC) Degree Advancement Program for excellence in online education. Boise State, along with other award recipients, will be honored at the 2026 UPCEA Annual Conference, April 15-17 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The RRT-to-BSRC Degree Advancement Program currently has more than 400 active students annually and graduates between 150-160 students each year. Since 2017, under the leadership of online program champion T.J. Wing, the program has continued to meet the evolving needs of students and the respiratory care profession. With over 1,500 alumni, the program has been elevating the respiratory care profession nationwide by expanding access to baccalaureate education, empowering hundreds of practitioners and ultimately enhancing patient care since its launch in 2007.
