Innovation is ingrained in P&G's culture, and over the years, we've seen a great level of success when we invite ideas from all corners of the business. Through broad assignments in different parts of the business, mentorship programs and world-class learning and development, employees are encouraged to explore, evolve and make an impact that can grow their careers and business.
Our talented IT teams have embraced this approach and our adoption of the latest emerging technologies. The result is the development of enhanced products, underpinned by data-driven capability and initiatives in Research & Development and supply chain optimization.
Their efforts are visible in innovative solutions like our Pampers My Perfect Fit application, a tool that uses AI-generated insights to recommend the correct diaper, eliminating discomfort and mess. Parents can opt in to provide the date of birth, baby's weight and height and diaper fit details, and the algorithm will recommend the right diaper size, with 90% size accuracy.
To continue to drive business growth through this consumer-centric approach to digital transformation, we are investing in advancing capability in three key areas:
1. Upskilling Our Workforce
To ensure employees possess the knowledge and skills to harness the power of AI and other digital tools, we implemented comprehensive upskilling programs across all departments, not just in IT. This continuous learning fosters a culture of innovation and agility, enabling P&G to adapt quickly to evolving consumer needs and market trends. One of these internal tools is Project Genie, which uses AI to provide information to over 800 Customer Service Reps. It quickly gathers knowledge from articles and composes consumer-friendly messages that ultimately reduce question processing time. Since incorporating this, our operators have been able to improve handling times and the consumer experience.
2. Harnessing the Power of AI for Enhanced Efficiency and Creativity
Our teams are using AI daily to improve the consumer experience and deliver value to the business. But AI and other digital platforms make the greatest impact when they are scaled properly across the entire organization. To make this a reality, our teams have made significant investments in developing and broadly deploying four proprietary generative AI platforms that are driving efficiency, optimizing decision-making and fueling product innovation.
3. Building a Future-Ready Supply Chain
A robust and agile supply chain plays a critical role in meeting the demands of today's consumers. Our digital-focused supply chain strategy is brought to life through the collaboration of our organization's various functions and departments. By leveraging automation, real-time data analytics, and a commitment to quality, we've created a responsive, efficient and resilient supply chain ecosystem.
A critical component of this strategy is P&G's "right the first time, every time" quality approach, which standardizes building excellence into every stage of the supply chain, from product design to manufacturing and delivery. This ensures that consumers receive products of the highest quality, while simultaneously optimizing operational efficiency for our partners and customers and minimizing waste.
By implementing automated modeling and simulation, we can overcome supply chain issues and improve our fabric care formula design. Numerous detergent formulas have been integrated into our core data lake, which now allows for faster development of alternative formulations based on a material's availability, with the ability to send them to the manufacturing lines.
For over 185 years, innovation has been the cornerstone of our success, and it is an integral part of our culture. Our teams have first-hand experience using AI, Machine Learning and other smart tools that are helping drive efficiency and enhancing our ability to create and test customized offerings for consumers, while propelling brand and market growth. Our dedication to results-driven digital capabilities will continue to drive us into a better tomorrow where we ensure consumers are provided with superior solutions.
