Chinese Ambassador to Iran Cong Peiwu Meets with the Governor of Khuzestan Province of Iran Seyed Mohammad Reza Mavalizadeh

On January 11, Chinese Ambassador to Iran Cong Peiwu met with the governor of Khuzestan province of Iran Seyed Mohammad Reza Mavalizadeh in Ahvaz. Minister Counselor Xu Qisong, who is in charge of commercial affairs, was present.

Ambassador Cong said that in 2024, China's GDP is expected to pass the 130 trillion yuan, and China will remain the biggest engine of global economic growth. Chinese-style modernization will continue to bring more opportunities to countries around the world, including Iran. Not long ago, President Xi Jinping and President Pezeshkian held a successful meeting, which pointed out the direction for the development of China-Iran relations. Khuzestan Province has a long history and rich resources. The Chinese Embassy in Iran is willing to work with Khuzestan Province to tap the potential for sub-national cooperation and push China-Iran relations to a new level.

Mavalizadeh welcomed Ambassador Cong's visit, fondly recalled his experience of visiting China, and praised the extraordinary achievements of Chinese-style modernization. Mavalizadeh said that Khuzestan Province is rich in resources and is willing to actively carry out cooperation with China in various fields to create a fine example of sub-national cooperation between Iran and China and benefit the people of both countries.
