Daniel J. Riccio Jr. '86 '24MS, former senior vice president of hardware engineering at Apple, presented the 2025 Shirley & Ting-Wei Tang Endowed Lecture on Oct. 30 in the Student Union Ballroom.
Speaking with Sanjay Raman, dean of the Riccio College of Engineering, Riccio discussed his journey from UMass Amherst to the pinnacle of innovation at Apple, where he played a pivotal role in building the team, culture and processes that delivered category-defining innovative Apple products such as the iMac, iPhone and iPad.
In his talk, "Design + Engineering: Driving innovation and the world's best products," he also spoke of his vision for the Riccio College of Engineering and the motivation behind his recent transformative $50 million gift to the university.
