CANYON, Texas - Registration opens March 1 for nearly 100 summer camp offerings at West Texas A&M University.
Over the summer, WT's Extended Studies program will offer camps, clinics, academies and more for youth from kindergarten through college interested in a variety of activities, from music to athletics to meat judging to engineering. A full list of camps can be seen at wtamu.edu/camps.
Nearly 5,000 students are expected to take part in camps.
"This summer, we're proud to offer an exciting lineup of engaging, hands-on camp experiences designed to inspire curiosity, creativity and confidence," said Jessica Hanke, Extended Studies director. "Our programs provide campers with an authentic collegiate atmosphere while maintaining a fun, supportive environment tailored to their age and interests."
In addition, WT is hosting several spring camps for volleyball, baseball, soccer, men's basketball and spirit.
"Safety is our highest priority," Hanke said. "We implement comprehensive safety protocols and thorough oversight measures that exceed those of surrounding institutions, ensuring families can feel confident that their campers are in a secure and well-supervised setting."
Costs and registration deadlines vary among the different camps. Youth programs are not eligible for credit at WT. Registration fees are subject to change.
Providing regionally impactful programs is a key component of the University's long-range plan, WT 125: From the Panhandle to the World.
That plan is fueled by the historic One West comprehensive fundraising campaign, which reached its initial $125 million goal 18 months after publicly launching in September 2021. The campaign, which is now winding down, has raised more than $175 million.
