The Clean Deliveries Act S.1180C/ A.3575C is a business-friendly, flexible program that reduces toxic air pollution and protects New York families

The New York State FY2027 budget rolled back key public health protections and emission reduction mandates of the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA), raising the importance for new legislation that curbs toxic air pollution and protects New York families.
The following statement is attributed to the ElectrifyNY Coalition:
"There is nothing affordable about pediatric asthma and pulmonary disease. Families, communities, and healthcare systems bear the enormous costs of illnesses that are worsened by toxic air pollution from diesel trucks and their fine particulate matter (PM2.5) emissions. New York has an opportunity to address these preventable health harms through the Clean Deliveries Act (S.1180C/ A.3575C), legislation that tackles one of the largest sources of harmful pollution impacting the three million New Yorkers living within half a mile of a mega warehouse.
"The CDA advances practical, proven, and business-friendly solutions that have already succeeded in states such as California, where pollution has been reduced while economic growth and commerce continue to thrive. The legislation creates a collaborative framework between New York State and warehouse operators, offering flexible, achievable pathways to cut emissions. Companies can choose from a range of mitigation measures, including deploying zero-emission vehicles, installing on-site renewable energy and battery storage, or shifting freight movement to rail.
"The New York State Senate has passed the Clean Deliveries Act three times. Now, the Assembly must take decisive action to protect children's health, reduce toxic air pollution, and keep New York on track to meet its climate commitments. Every year of delay means more preventable illness, more missed school days, and more families living with pollution that can and should be reduced."
