Guiderail Upgrades on Route 40 in North Haven and Hamden

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that guiderail upgrades will be performed on Route 40 in North Haven and Hamden. This project is scheduled to occur on Monday, August 10 and be completed on Friday, October 30, 2026. The project DOT01703718CN consists of upgrading and replacing the existing guiderail.

This project is being performed by Eagle Fence.

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO

There will be various lane closures on Route 40 from Monday, August 10 to Friday October 30, 2026 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Traffic control signing patterns crash units, and state troopers will guide motorists through the work zone.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
