On Monday, January 19th, Minister of National Defence, Radu Miruţă, had a videoconference with his counterpart from the Republic of Poland, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.
During the talks, the two officials reiterated the very good cooperative relations within the strategic partnership, especially in the field of defence, appreciating Poland's contribution to the allied structures on Romanian territory, with emphasis on the Headquarters Multinational Brigade South-East in Craiova.
Minister Miruță emphasized that our country would continue its commitment to contribute with forces in the NATO Battle Group Poland.
At the same time, they also discussed the need to increase measures to consolidate NATO and EU's Eastern Flank, reiterating the importance of the complementarity of the measures taken at the level of the two organizations - Eastern Sentry, European Drone Defence Initiative, Eastern Flank Watch, European Air Shield and European Space Shield, including from the perspective of the discussions that will take place at the upcoming NATO and EU Ministerial Meetings in the field of defence, in February, respectively the B9 Meeting, which will take place this year, in Romania.
