The Fontana Mayor's Education Coalition, an international partnership between the City of Fontana, its academic institutions, and local business leaders, proudly concludes a milestone academic year, having inspired more than 1,000 high school students through a broad spectrum of real-world career exposure and skill-building programs.
As the fastest-growing city in Southern California's Inland Empire, Fontana is deeply invested in preparing its youth for the opportunities within its own community. This year, the Coalition shifted its approach by emphasizing transferable skills that are essential across industries-such as entrepreneurship, critical thinking, design, healthcare, culinary arts, editing, marketing, and welding.
From manufacturing to medicine, students gained firsthand exposure to the modern workplace through interactive field trips and site visits with some of the city's leading employers and institutions. Visits to Kaiser Permanente, the Garner Holt Animaker Space, Fontana Water Company and CSUSB's Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship - among others provided students with the opportunity to explore careers in animation, public utilities, and business development.

In addition to direct student engagement, the Coalition supported the launch of new career centers across high schools in the Fontana Unified School District-ensuring long-term access to career planning and workforce preparation tools.
"Fontana is not only building a stronger workforce-we're building brighter futures," said Mayor Acquanetta Warren. "The Education Coalition brings together the entire community-schools, businesses, and local government-to make sure our youth see what's possible right here in their hometown."
As the 2024-2025 school year closes, the Fontana Mayor's Education Coalition reaffirms its commitment to aligning education with economic opportunity, equipping students with the experiences, skills, and inspiration they need to lead and succeed.
