Deadline Extended: Globally-Engaged Research Awards for Graduates and Undergraduates

Lobo researchers, the deadline has been extended to submit nominations for the Globally-Engaged Research Awards in two different categories that highlight the dynamic international research conducted by UNM graduate and undergraduate students.

Nominations are now due Friday, March 6.

AWARD DESCRIPTIONS

  • Graduate Student Award, $1,500 cash prize
  • Deborah Rifenbary Memorial Undergraduate Student Award, $1,000 cash prize
    Deborah Rifenbary dedicated her long career at UNM to promoting student success and the well-being of children and their families in New Mexico and abroad. A former professor and interim dean in the College of Education and Human Sciences, Rifenbary promoted international collaboration and professional development through the Student Teachers in Austria Reach Success (STARS) program.

For the purposes of this award, "international research" comprises research (inclusive of scholarship and creative works) conducted or with significant, direct impacts outside of the U.S. and its territories and/or involving strong international research partnerships.

Nominations for the 2026 awards must be submitted via InfoReady by this March 6!
