Simon Ducroquet Joins Graphics

We are thrilled to welcome Simon Ducroquet to the Graphics desk as a graphics/multimedia editor. An experienced and imaginative visual journalist, Simon will investigate and explain the news across all coverage areas through multimedia-rich storytelling that combines 3D modeling, illustrations, data analysis, photography and video.

Simon comes from The Washington Post, where he was a reporter and editor in the climate and the environment department. His work revealed how microplastics enter the human body , the relationship between British architecture and weather extremes , and what a tide gauge in Georgia reveals about America's climate future.

When Hurricane Helene hit western North Carolina, Simon was quick to examine what caused the devastation and visualize its environmental toll . This coverage was a Pulitzer finalist for National Reporting in 2025.

Previously, he worked in Brazil, as a graphics reporter at Folha de São Paulo and O Globo, and led the visuals team at Nexo, a digital-only news outlet.

Simon starts on Monday. Please join us in welcoming him!
