Police seeking witness in the homicide investigation of Thomas Junior Downey

Police are looking to identify and speak to a possible witness as part of the Thomas Junior Downey homicide investigation.

On June 26, 2026, at approximately 10:30 p.m., police responded to a fatal shooting on Lahey Road in Dartmouth. Thomas Junior Downey, 39, was pronounced deceased on scene. His death is being investigated as a homicide.

Police are looking to speak with a man who was in the area that night and may have witnessed the incident. He was captured on surveillance video near a vehicle believed to be a newer-model black Nissan Kicks. The man was wearing a white shirt and a black ball cap. He is not considered a suspect.

Anyone with information on the pictured vehicle and possible witness identity are asked to call police at 902-490-5020.
