ATLANTA - State Representatives Regina Lewis-Ward (D-McDonough), Viola Davis (D-Stone Mountain) and former State Representative Roger Bruce celebrate the 100th birthday of Mrs. Julia Lee Jackson Dobbs and commend her for her service to her community.
Mrs. Dobbs organized her church's participation in the March on Washington and worked alongside some of the nation's leaders, including Shirley Chisholm, Charles Rangel and Rev. Al Sharpton. These representatives note that her commitment to justice and equality has left a lasting impact on generations of Georgians and Americans.
"Mrs. Julia Dobbs embodies the strength, perseverance and grace that have helped shape our communities and our nation," said Rep. Lewis-Ward. "As she celebrates her 100th birthday, we honor not only her remarkable longevity but also her extraordinary contributions to education, civil rights, faith and public service."
"Mrs. Dobbs' century of life represents a living history of perseverance, courage and community leadership," said Rep. Davis. "Her unwavering dedication to voting rights, education, entrepreneurship and faith serve as an inspiration to all of us. We are honored to celebrate this milestone and recognize her enduring legacy."

Rep. Davis recently introduced House Resolution 4EX, which commends and congratulates Mrs. Julia Lee Jackson Dobbs for her service to the community, as well as her 100th birthday.

Representative Viola Davis represents the citizens of District 87, which includes a portion of DeKalb County. She was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2018 and currently serves on the Defense & Veterans Affairs, Health, Insurance, Natural Resources & Environment and Urban Affairs committees.
