Lane Closures for the 2nd Annual Clarksville Half Marathon and 5K Race

CLARKSVILLE, TN. - On Saturday, November 1, 2025, the Second Annual Clarksville Half Marathon and 5K presented by Hankook Tire Manufacturing Tennessee will bring nearly 900 runners through some of Clarksville's most scenic streets.

To ensure the safety of participants, spectators, and motorists, various lane closures will be in place across the city, with Clarksville Police Department officers stationed at key intersections.

Lane Closures and Police Presence

To facilitate race operations and ensure safety, the following lane closures and officer placements are planned:

Southbound Riverside Drive lanes will begin shutting down at 5 a.m.

Liberty Park will be closed until runners are no longer present on Cumberland Drive.

Downtown Clarksville and Austin Peay State University streets will start closing at 6:30 a.m. as police manage the route. Officers will be present at intersections, including:

  • Franklin Street at intersections with First, Second, Third, and Fourth streets; Seventh Street; University Avenue; and Childers Alley
  • Strawberry Alley at First and Second streets
  • Main Street at intersections with First, Fourth, and Eighth streets
  • College Street at intersections with First Street, Spring Street, and Eighth Street
  • Riverside Drive at intersections with Main Street, Commerce Street, Adams Street, Crossland Avenue, Thomas Street, Lawn Street, Dortch Street, Current Street, Barker Street, Hickory Grove Boulevard, Dean Drive, and Cumberland Drive.
  • Additional closures include Highway 48 near Liberty Park and Public Square, which will remain closed until after the event.

Parking Restrictions and Reopening Schedule

To accommodate the race, parking along the race route will be prohibited starting at 4 a.m. on Saturday, November 1. Roads are expected to reopen gradually as runners finish, with full access restored by 10:30 a.m.

Spectator Opportunities

Spectators are encouraged to cheer on participants, with downtown Clarksville offering ideal vantage points along Franklin Street and nearby intersections. Join us downtown to celebrate this event and support our runners!

Safety and Support

The Clarksville Half Marathon and 5K prioritize the safety of all participants, residents, and spectators. We appreciate everyone's cooperation in following street closures, parking restrictions, and guidance from officers.

Parking

The newly constructed City Parking Garage, located at the corner of Commerce and First Street, has over 500 parking spots, is free on weekends, and is an ideal location for runners to park. Additionally, all metered parking in the downtown area is free on weekends.
