Center for Democracy in Deaf America promotes voting in this fall’s Presidential election

Dr. Brendan Stern, '05, executive director of the Center for Democracy in Deaf America, has been presenting on the 2024 presidential election to local Deaf communities throughout the United States. In collaboration with the Office of Alumni Relations, he presented a SignVote community workshop at the NorCal (Northern California) chapter of the Gallaudet University Alumni Association (GUAA) last weekend. He is in Austin, Texas this weekend, presenting to the Austin GUAA chapter. Next weekend, he will travel to Florida to present to the St. Augustine GUAA chapter.

CDDA and SignVote are also hosting several on-campus events from now through Election Day, including the fifth annual Stories and Speeches in Sign event, panel discussions, a booth at Homecoming, watch parties and discussions for the vice presidential debate on October 1, and another watch party and discussion on Election Night, November 5.
