HENDERSON, Nev. (March 17, 2026) - The City of Henderson, in collaboration with the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) and Clark County, is moving forward with improvements to the I-11/I-215 interchange.
Today, the Henderson Mayor and City Council approved Phase I of the Henderson Interchange Improvements project. These upgrades are designed to reduce future traffic congestion and prevent bottlenecks near Lake Mead Parkway and the I-11 northbound flyover to I-215.
Phase I of the project includes:
-
Widening I-215 westbound from the I-11/I-215 interchange to Stephanie Street.
-
Adding an additional lane on the I-11 northbound to I-215 westbound ramp.
-
Adding an additional lane on Lake Mead Parkway westbound to I-215 westbound entrance ramp.
This work will be coordinated with the ongoing I-215 widening project, with construction happening at the same time so Phase I improvements can be incorporated into the existing work. This approach aims to reduce additional disruptions for drivers while improving traffic flow in the area.
"Getting a project of this scale off the ground takes more than plans and budgets; it takes people working together," said Henderson Councilman Jim Seebock, who helped coordinate efforts with NDOT and Clark County. "I also want to thank Commissioner Jim Gibson for his help in moving this project forward. I'm proud we were able to bring all the right players to the table early on to make sure this project moves forward to benefit our residents for years to come."
The design phase is funded by NDOT and is budgeted for $5 million.
