Discrimination in any form is entirely unacceptable to TU/e.
TU/e is going to appeal in the case of an Iranian professor at the Department of Built Environment who was not hired. This is to refute the suggestion that there would have been discrimination in the appointment procedure.
TU/e is preeminently a very diverse, international organization with over a hundred nationalities. We nurture talent from all backgrounds and nationalities, based on our core values of Open and Respectful, and are proud of our community's great diversity and togetherness. Discrimination in any form is entirely unacceptable to us; our community has no room for that.
In the aforementioned court case, the judge recently concluded that TU/e had failed to prove that the reason for the dismissal had nothing to do with the professor's nationality. TU/e cannot agree with the suggestion in the ruling that there may have been discrimination. The university is appealing to remove that suggestion simply because it contradicts our stand.
The professor's lawyer has been informed of the decision, and the formal appeal will take place as soon as possible.
