Celebrating 250 Years of Free Enterprise, Five Small Businesses Compete for a Share of $1 Million Cash Prize Pool Funded by Clover
Published on October 20, 2026

WASHINGTON - Today, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced that the special broadcast event for the Million Dollar Pitch Competition is now streaming globally on Prime Video and YouTube. The high-stakes special features five small businesses competing for a share of a $1 million cash prize pool funded by Clover Network, Inc. (Clover), pitching their plans to expand operations, create jobs, and strengthen American manufacturing.

"The Million Dollar Pitch Competition makes it clear that America is a nation of builders, and on behalf of the SBA, I'm pleased to congratulate all our outstanding finalists, who showcased the incredible grit, ingenuity, and impact of small businesses in every corner of our great nation," said SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler. "Each finalist's story is one of the tenacity, hard work, and free enterprise that built America for the last 250 years. With the show now streaming on Prime Video and YouTube, the Trump SBA is showcasing exactly why small business is big business. From California's Navy Yard to the plains of Wyoming and Iowa, and from Maine to Georgia, their pursuit of the American Dream will inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs, risk-takers, and innovators. Thanks to President Trump restoring economic growth and opportunity, the SBA is helping a historic number of founders to turn their ambitions into thriving American businesses."

Selected from a nationwide, competitive pool of small businesses and innovators, the five finalists presented their pitches before a live audience and a celebrity judging panel featuring music icon and entrepreneur Nicki Minaj, business leader and real estate entrepreneur Grant Cardone, and Airbnb co-founder and national design studio leader Joe Gebbia. The judges evaluated the pitches during the show taping in Washington, D.C. last month. The finalists visited the White House to meet with President Trump, which is featured in this historic episode that celebrates America's 250th birthday.

Throughout the finale, hosted by award-winning actor Dean Cain, the finalists share the personal stories of resilience and innovation that power their businesses, and outline their growth strategies. Viewers will watch as they detail how they plan to use their potential winnings to scale operations, create high-paying domestic jobs, and strengthen critical U.S. supply chains and manufacturing capabilities.

The five featured small business finalists competing in the broadcast special are:

  • Compotech, Inc. (Brewer, Maine) - Spun out of university research in Brewer, Maine, Compotech develops advanced composite structures, rapid-deploy expeditionary shelters, and ballistic protection systems for military and commercial applications. Compotech is represented by Paul Melrose.
  • Plas-Tech Tooling, Inc. (Garner, Iowa) - Plas-Tech Tooling produces custom CNC-machined components, injection-molded plastic parts, and fabricated tooling for critical industrial supply chains. Plas-Tech Tooling is represented by Dean, Ryan, and Andrew Sonquist.
  • Red River, LLC (Gillette, Wyoming) - Red River specializes in the engineering, design, and fabrication of ASME-certified pressure vessels, modular skids, and prefabricated energy solutions. Red River is represented by Marshall Sasse.
  • VetPowered, LLC (San Diego, California) - VetPowered is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned small business delivering advanced CNC machining, metal fabrication, and industrial machinery repair while actively recruiting, training, and employing transitioning military service members. VetPowered is represented by Hernán Luis y Prado.
  • Winton Machine Company (Suwanee, Georgia) - Winton Machine designs and builds advanced tube and coaxial cable bending machinery used globally across defense, aerospace, and commercial industries. Winton Machine is represented by Lisa and George Winton.

The Million Dollar Pitch Competition, the final round of the summer-long Patriot Pitch Competition, served as the SBA's signature Freedom 250 event and was designed to honor and encourage the entrepreneurial spirit that has helped shape America, as well as the ingenuity, grit, and national economic impact of small businesses. By bringing five small business stories to a global audience, the special celebrates that legacy while showcasing the power of small businesses as essential contributors to U.S. economic and military dominance.
