BURBANK, CALIFORNIA - U.S. Representative Laura Friedman (CA-30) spoke to more than 40 students assembled for a meeting of Burbank High School's Model Congress school club. Friedman discussed her path and experience in public service, her current legislative work in Congress, and answered student questions.
"Civics education is deeply important to the future of our country, and I applaud these students for getting involved and becoming active citizens who will help drive our country forward," said U.S. Representative Laura Friedman (CA-30). "I am always happy and honored to be a resource and advocate for anyone with questions on government and public service, and I can't wait to see what these students accomplish in the future."
Friedman has made it a priority to uplift Los Angeles' youth. She offers paid internshipsthat help expose college students to government and policy work, building skills that support their future career endeavors. Last November, she toured My Friend's Place and highlightedlocal efforts to combat young adult homelessness, and she has also been a long-time advocate of additional resources to support foster age youth.
