Contractors working for the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) have nearly finished installing new traffic signal foundations and electrical conduits as part of the first phase of work on the N Rosa Parks Way & Greeley Avenue Crossing & Signal Project.

In coming months, PBOT will install new traffic signal poles, pedestrian push button poles, a traffic signal cabinet, and lighting fixtures.

Our contractor will then remove the old signal equipment, rebuild curb ramps, and repair the pavement. We expect to wrap up work this fall.

Please note that construction is currently paused to address an underground storage tank that is not registered with the Oregon DEQ and is suspected of containing old fuel. This tank is preventing PBOT from continuing construction. The project team is working with the adjacent property owner to remove the tank.

To remove the tank, we will pump out the contents, test for soil contamination, and dispose of the tank and all contaminated materials following protocols that protect workers and the environment. We will then backfill with clean material and install the final signal pole foundation.

Thank you for your patience as we work to resume construction.

A completed signal pole foundation awaits placement of the pole and mast arm on the northeast corner of N Rosa Parks Way & Greeley Avenue.
