Ritter Planetarium to Screen 'Spooky Space' in October

The University of Toledo's Ritter Planetarium will screen a seasonal favorite in October.

"Spooky Space" explores cosmic connections to Halloween, comparing outer space phenomena like black holes and nebulae to characters like vampires and ghosts.

UToledo's Ritter Planetarium will screen a seasonal favorite in October, "Spooky Space," which explores cosmic connections to Halloween.

"Spooky Space," recommended for viewers ages 6 and older, will screen at 1 p.m. Saturdays through Oct. 31. Young viewers are invited to attend in costume on Halloween.

Ritter Planetarium also will screen "5,000 Eyes: Mapping the Universe with DESI" in October, exploring recent discoveries from the U.S. Department of Energy's Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) installed on a telescope in Arizona. DESI is creating a map of the nearby universe with unprecedented detail using independently operated robots that measure the light from thousands of galaxies at once.

"5,000 Eyes" will screen at 7:30 p.m. Fridays through Oct. 30.

Admission to all public programs is $8 for adults and $6 for children, seniors and UToledo community members. Children ages 3 and younger are free.

Parking is free for visitors who register in advance online or submit their license plate information once inside the planetarium lobby. Free parking is available within 45 minutes of the beginning of planetarium shows in Area 1N.
