Volunteer efforts meant to show the love for Mission Viejo

A nonprofit organization is hosting a special event on Saturday, May 17 that is designed to benefit City programs, services, and residents as well as help beautify public spaces and parks.

The second "Love Mission Viejo" Citywide Serve Day on May 17 invites residents to volunteer for a range of projects and efforts across the community from 9 am to noon.

The day begins with an 8 am rally at Mission Viejo High School before volunteers embark on different projects and efforts that include things like planting along the Oso Creek Trail, teaching technology to older adults, creating appreciation bags for homebound seniors, and an all-inclusive plant and play effort at Pavion Park, which complements the City's ABLE (Activities 4 Better Living Experience) program designed for those with disabilities.

The City of Mission Viejo is not a host or sponsor of this volunteer-driven event but is encouraging community members to embrace a project that is meant to benefit the community.
