Creative Greensboro welcomes musician and documentary filmmaker Andy Eversole to the Greensboro Residency for Original Works (GROW) beginning Tuesday, April 7, through Tuesday, May 26. During his seven-week residency, Eversole will gather material for his upcoming documentary, Banjo Earth: North Carolina, exploring the state's music, food, history, and people. He will also host free workshops where he will share insights from more than 20 years of experience, teaching aspiring creatives practical skills including YouTube monetization, music video production, documentary filmmaking, and podcast recording.
In addition to a free workshop series, which takes place 6:30-8:30 pm each Tuesday between April 7 and May 26, Eversole invites the public to live podcast recordings every Saturday at noon, featuring special guests with expertise or unique experiences related to music in North Carolina. The recording will be followed by a jam session and open studio time. Guests are encouraged to bring instruments and record demo tracks with Eversole in the GROW studio. On Sunday afternoons, he will host ticketed screenings of his in-progress Banjo Earth documentary, each followed by a live musical performance. Tickets for the screenings are $18 and can be purchased online.
The GROW residency space is located next to the Davie Street entrance of the Greensboro Cultural Center, 200 N. Davie St. To learn more about the residency, visit CreativeGreensboro.com.
