ADVISORY - HARRISBURG - Shapiro Administration to Highlight Stuffed Toy Safety Inspections and Donate More Than 1,000 Toys to Families for Holiday Season

The Pennsylvania departments of Labor & Industry (L&I) and Human Services (PA DHS) will kick off the 2026 holiday season with the annual donation of more than 1,000 stuffed toys collected through L&I's routine safety inspections. This year, L&I approved 1,052 stuffed toys for sale in Pennsylvania, including 100 made with recycled materials.

The approved samples of each toy inspected are no longer needed and will be donated to PA DHS' Holiday Wish program so they can be distributed to Pennsylvania families in need during the holiday season.

Each year, L&I tests toys for flammability, materials, and design safety. Manufacturers who want to sell or give away stuffed toys in Pennsylvania must register with the Department.
